Do you know which is the most dangerous animal for humans on earth? <\/span><\/p>\n

The answer is the Mosquito. There are 6 Mosquito-borne infections in the world. Out of which three are more predominant in India. 1. Chikungunya 2. Dengue 3. Malaria <\/span><\/p>\n

Chikungunya occurs due to mosquitoes, which are known as Aedes mosquito. Chikungunya has nothing to do with chicken. Chickun this word is derived from Bantu language. It is used to describe the condition of a patient suffering from chikungunya. <\/span><\/p>\n

Let’s understand about these mosquitoes:<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

These mosquitoes are knowns as Aedes mosquitoes, these mosquitoes are mostly spotted near human society. They can survive in clean water as well, particularly in or around your house. In places like flower vases, water storage containers in the bathroom. The Aedes mosquitoes generally bite during day time, like post sunrise or just before sunset. <\/span><\/p>\n

Symptoms: <\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Fever (Low or high grade) – persists for 2-3 days <\/span><\/p>\n

2. Rash <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Headache <\/span><\/p>\n

4. Bodyache <\/span><\/p>\n

5. Fatigue <\/span><\/p>\n

6. Joint pain <\/span><\/p>\n

7. Myalgia <\/span><\/p>\n

Symptoms usually start to appear 3 \u2013 7 days after being bitten by the mosquito. In most patients it is self limiting, which means the symptoms will seems to disappear after 1-2 weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n

Chikungunya fever :<\/strong> It lasting from 2 – 3 days. Along with fever the patient might feel cold and have rigor. <\/span><\/p>\n

Chikungunya Rash:<\/strong> 1. The rash is transient, which means it lasts for 1- 2 days along with fever in most patients. It appear on the face or lower limbs. The patient may also experience skin itching. <\/span><\/p>\n

J<\/span>oint Pain in Chikungunya : <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Usually small and large joints get affected<\/strong>. Particularly pain in big joints like knee or ankles joints, along with lower limbs are observed. <\/span><\/p>\n

2. Body Stiffness<\/strong> – Joint pain tends to be worse in the morning and is relieved by walking around. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Joint pain<\/strong> is also observed in patients suffering from chikungunya, which is extremely painful. It has also been observed that such people can also face difficulty performing their daily activities. The symptoms may persist in 30-40% of those infected patients for a duration of more than 3 months. <\/span><\/p>\n
